As Chief Operating Officer, Karla has pursued her dream of helping the community where she was raised. A proud Angeleno, she is dedicated to serving underserved communities and making a positive impact. Karla is a Physician Assistant with over 11 years of experience and holds a PA degree from the University of Washington. She remains committed to using her skills and expertise to uplift those in need and improve access to quality healthcare.

Christopher’s deep passion for helping others led him to join Vida during its early development, where he made significant contributions to the community. He holds a degree in Mechanical Engineering with a specialization in aerospace from California State University, Northridge. Currently, Christopher is a Lead IFPO Outside Plant Technician at AT&T. Dedicated to Vida’s vision, he remains enthusiastic about contributing to the organization’s growth and enhancing its impact on the community.

Atilio Rugamas is a seasoned marketing professional with over 15 years of experience in creating and executing impactful marketing strategies. Atilio attended California State University, Long Beach, and pursued a degree in Visual Communication, which has equipped him with a robust foundation in visual and strategic marketing. With extensive experience in marketing and healthcare, he is committed to helping enhance the clinic's brand presence and amplify its impact within the community.

Jessica holds a degree in Business Administration and brings over 11 years of experience in managing an educational online business. She is deeply passionate about health equity and ensuring accessibility to care, regardless of income or insurance status. Jessica is also a strong advocate for education and is inspired by Vida's commitment to mentoring the next generation of healthcare providers, cultivating compassionate leaders who serve their communities.

Tony has been a practicing physician assistant for over 12 years, with diverse experience in emergency medicine, pediatric neurosurgery, orthopedic medicine, and general surgery. A highly motivated and results-driven professional, Tony is passionate about making a positive impact on the lives of his patients. His vibrant energy and compassionate approach not only enhance patient care but also inspire those around him.

After passing the California Bar Exam, Silvia has successfully represented Immigrants in deportation defense, helping talented people across the world immigrate to the US, and reuniting families across America. Her commitment to justice and advocacy for immigrant communities continues to drive her impactful work.

For over twenty years, Cecilia has worked in primary care clinics, holding various roles in management and administration. She holds a Masters of Public Administration and Leadership and joined Vida because she is deeply committed to their mission of advocating for equitable healthcare access and supporting the next generation of healthcare professionals. She believes that quality healthcare should be a universal right, regardless of socioeconomic status.

Corri is an accomplished Director of Business Development with extensive experience in the hospital and healthcare industry. She specializes in strategic planning, customer service, post-acute services, and navigating insurance dynamics. Corri's expertise and leadership have consistently driven success in healthcare organizations.

Ixchel has been a vital part of Vida since 2021, playing a key role in outreach and fundraising initiatives. Her passion for Latin dance, particularly salsa and bachata, inspired her to found a community organization dedicated to unifying the community. This passion for connection and cultural celebration sparked her initial involvement in the nonprofit sector, where she continues to make a meaningful impact.

Edward Gerber earned his accounting degree from the University of Texas at El Paso after completing four years of military service. He joined Lestonnac Free Clinic 33 years ago as the Clinic Accountant and was promoted to Executive Director in 2007.  Edward has since semi-retired from Lestonnac Free Clinic and now serves as Executive Director Emeritus. He also spearheaded Lestonnac’s innovative Specialty Care Program, which gives uninsured patients access to specialty care at no cost.  In addition to his work at Lestonnac, Edward has been a dedicated leader in California’s free and charitable clinic movement through his service with the California Association of Free and Charitable Clinics, where he serves as Treasurer.  He is currently serving his seventh term on the board and his second year as Vice Chair of the Orange County Coalition of Community Health Centers. He is also a member of the San Bernardino Diocese Health Care Committee, and a board member of the Community Health Association Inland Southern Region.

Gaby has been a medical assistant for more than 10 years and is currently pursuing a career in nursing. She has always had a passion for healthcare and caring for others and believes in the importance of accessible and affordable care. She believes that health is a human right and everyone should have access to healthcare to improve the quality of life regardless of their socioeconomic status.

Holly, a retired physician assistant, co-founded the Foot Hygiene Clinic for the unhoused in the San Fernando Valley in 2022, in partnership with North Valley Caring Services. Throughout her career, Holly has been a steadfast advocate for accessible healthcare. Her dedication to Vida's mission shines through her commitment to training pre-med and pre-PA students, while providing vital medical care to uninsured and unhoused patients. Holly's passion for healthcare equity continues to drive her impactful contributions.
